(Note: We recently received this first person testimony from
a freshman who was hounded by the police when attempting
to run her first Naked Mile)

I would love to tell you my story. Ever since I heard about the Naked Mile
in high school, I have been dying to do it. I thought it would be so fun to just
go run in the buff, plus it would be a great story to tell your grandkids, you know?
So, now I am a freshman and I decided to do it!
I ran with my boyfriend and a few other guys from our track team.
When we got there, we went to where the start area was and looked for other people
doing it, so we could get a big group to go. The first time we stripped, a cop came over
and said, "Get dressed or get arrested." I chose to get dressed.
Then we decided to go to an alley, get naked, then run out, hoping the cops wouldn't stop us
from undressing then. But, alas, they came over and said to get out of the alley. THEN we tried
again because we had a huge group of people and, yet again, the cops came and asked us if we
were all keeping our clothes on. ANNOYING!
So after the
intersection sit down, we were pretty much away from the cops and I knew it was
now or never. So our entire group just stripped. Everyone was just standing there and I was like
"Are we going to go or what!?"
They all just looked at me, so I thought, "Screw this, I am outta here!"
And I just took off!!!
I got a little ways down, and some cops were in another intersection. One of them grabbed me
by my shoulders and pushed me through the crowd until I was on the outside. He had quite the
firm grip! Needless to say, I was a little freaked out by that, so I put my clothes back on and
went to go find my friends.
It was definitely an experience, but I feel like it wasn't what it should have been! I wanted
to do the whole thing and not have to sit there and be all freaked out about getting arrested!
